This is a simple blog from the mind of a simple guy who's rambling thoughts may, from time to time, need to spill over somewhere to keep "my cup from getting too full". Just remember, "You're riding a gravy train with biscuit wheels."

Mr. Stoner's reliability problem?
I found this article a while back and thought I'd pass it on for all the anti-AR15/M4 folk. I know from reading that an AK can shoot with a handful of gravel in the action, but this story goes a long way to vindicate Mr. Stoner's little ol' gun. I hopefully will have some of this Slip 2000 soon and will let you know how it works out. As an update to the article(copied from the Slip 2000 website), this weapon has supposedly passed the 40,000 round mark. Y'all enjoy the article and have a good 'un.

I need to order some too. Good article.
ReplyDeleteSorry it took me so long to get back to you, Bubba. Don't cross me off the list yet! It does look like good stuff. I've always sat back and wondered about the "it must be kitchen table clean" guys vs. the "oil it and let 'er rip" guys. Guess I'm in the middle. I also love it when "they" ask you, after a jam, if you're "runnin' her wet?" Now, I understand proper lubrication, but I don't get the "lube until it blows all over your face" thing either. Oh well. The ol' girl is still runnin' and shoots straight every time. Guess I'm doing something right. See you around.
ReplyDeleteHuh, small world. I use the EWL on all my firearms, works great.
ReplyDeleteAs for the AR/M16/C7...ugh...I hate it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great gun, worked fine for me, no jams but the Army was so anal about cleaning that I can't look at one without getting angry.
I feel for you, PB. It's cool that you use this stuff. did y'all use it in the Army, or is just your personal lube? Uh...that came out wrong, huh?
ReplyDeletelol, no we used CLP. I ran across and ordered this stuff when I had a JR Carbine on order, because the manufacturer recommended it.
ReplyDeleteWhen I cancelled and got a 336BL instead I gave it a try and liked it enough to use it for everything.
It has the benefit of not smelling terrible as well. Almost smells like vegetable oil.
Sounds good. I have to get some now. Good enough for you, good enough for me.
